About
Dr. Maxine Mendez-Williams, PhD, is a multidisciplinary author, executive advisor, and Disabled Veteran with 30+ years of Human Resources and organizational leadership across federal, local, and private sectors. Her writing sits at the intersection of systems change and lived experience—equipping readers with practical strategies to start and grow businesses, navigate complex institutions, and champion trauma-informed reform.
She is the author of four books, including Battling Mental Illness Behind Bars—a candid look at stigma, treatment gaps, and pathways to recovery—and Tax Hacks for the Modern Entrepreneur, a plain-English playbook for small-business owners. Beyond publishing, Dr. Mendez-Williams leads Millennial Business Solutions LLC and founded Our Vets Transition Home, a program model focused on housing, employment readiness, and wraparound services for justice-involved and at-risk veterans.
A sought-after speaker and workshop facilitator, she translates policy, compliance, and leadership theory into tools busy people can actually use. Her work advances three priorities: breaking mental-health stigma, expanding access to care, and building durable on-ramps to employment and entrepreneurship.
